Day 2 @ work!

DThe second day @ work began with the usual early morning rise along with the sunrise!

My team , team MOH ( Ministry of Health) set out along with the others for the important meetings of the day with a tingling of excitement and a feeling of anticipation, as we looked at this opportunity to be a part of the new exciting vision as we understood it.

MOH sub team Scott, Ulla, Mary and me of course!

The teams reached bright and early for the two important client meetings for the 2 sub teams working with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of youth affairs and sports ( also known as the Fresh ministry).

The first part of the day was an eventful and warm welcome from the Kenya Institute of  Curriculum Development at their campus. The team working with the Institute had their first presentation and discussions with the team. The opening address and remarks were made by Mercy Karogo, Senior Deputy Director, (Curriculum and Research Services). She spoke very passionately about Kenya's vision 2030 and the need for language, mathematics and science laboratories to develop and inculcate an educational and scientific temper. She also urged the team to look at benchmarks from other parts of the world and truly believed that a forward looking curriculum would bring about a tremendous transformation and bring out the best in Kenya's people.

This was followed by the sub-team on KICD, comprising of Win, Dino, Jennifer and Olivia who walked the audience through their plans, scope and other details.
