Jambo !!! Magical Kenya beckons... habari?

Habari everyone!!
Writing in from Magical Kenya about this wonderful opportunity of a lifetime.  As I begin this journey with a sincere hope and a promise, with the mystique of what is to come and the hope of a truly magical experience of a lifetime! And a journey of firsts!!!

At first, I thought I would post from Incredible India! As always, Incredible India gave one many an incredible challenge :)
Hence, this is my first post and only a trite late !!! All of 3 days and 22.4 hours only....

At the outset, let me thank the Lord of the Blogs, Dino Desfiges for helping me set this up and also for the encouragement! Dino if you are reading this, as they say in Kenya, Asante Sana!

As they say in the land of the Southie, it is totalee wokai!!!

After the flurry of calls and wonderful prep by Angela and Claudette, finally boarded the flight to Dubai... another first!  A 3 hour flight, where I encountered a baby... all of 8 months old with an imagination to boot... remind me to post the note  I wrote for her..... :))

The interesting thing at Dubai airport is it is very difficult to get an ethernet cable, I guess either the world ( read Dubai!) has moved ahead, or the world (read yours truly!!) is still in the Stone Age of digital technology. I leave it to you to take a guess ;)

Dubai airport is where I met our fellow team members, Mary Nguyen (from the US) and Sathvika (from Bangalore)... and then we were onward bound to Nairobi...

The highlight of the journey was crossing the equator ! Another first!! It was a moment that made me reflect and all those years of study and wonder, about the equator, was a fascinating high at 40000 feet!

As we reached Nairobi, we also met up at the airport with Ursula ( Ulla from Germany), Olivia (from Italy) and then of course the ever reliable Mr. Kevin Kathuka and his team!

The drive gave us a slice of what was going to come in the coming days!!!
Traffic et al! Speed bumps et al!  notwithstanding..... the mystique had begun to unravel itself....
Karen's countryhouse Inn beckoned warmly with the promise of warmth in the throes of a country about to enter winter!

The room is like it was in many an Indian classic movie.. The mosquito net highlighting the wonder of Africa, a metaphor for the classic and the mystique that was ahead.... The room with a wonderful view... and the birds of the southern hemisphere out in their glory to greet one and all...
