Fourth of July in Kenya

The Fourth of July or Independence Day is a national holiday in the United States. For the Americans of CSC Kenya Team 7 (Jen, Sarah, Scott and yours truly), today is a typical work day.
(Random factoid of the day: This will be my 4th consecutive Independence Day abroad (last three in Japan).

Our MOH sub-team wanted to meet with representatives from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) today to discuss funding and building sustainable healthcare programs, but they're all out on holiday. Even worse, the U.S. Embassy closes at noon on Fridays so we won't be able to meet with the PEPFAR folks whose office is based at the Embassy until Monday......

On a more positive note, we're having pizza night at hotel tonight! Happy 4th of July!
